Neighbour Care Benevolence Appeal

A Hand Up

In response we have established The Neighbour Care Network. The program has been designed to give a ‘Hand Up’. We work with volunteers who come alongside people during these times of need to uncover and address the root causes of their situation, and help them create a viable plan that provides direction, accountability, relief and hope.

It is common for there to be a gap in the assistance available or time is required for the plan to be implemented. In the meantime they remain in crisis because of unmanageable expenses. Our ability to provide one time benevolence to cover some expenses has made a life changing difference for many.

What Does Benevolence Look Like

Here are some examples of how we have assisted those in immediate need in our community:

  • An assisted living device (bath lift) for a mom struggling with a disabled daughter = $900
  • Temporary housing (hotel) for mom and children fleeing domestic violence = $3,100
  • An emergency dental bill = $1,900
  • Portion of rent until Child Tax Benefit is received = $1,200
  • Car repair for a single mom heading back to work = $500
  • Gas for a woman living in her car = $30/week

A Special Matching Opportunity!

In support of this life changing program a generous donor has offered a $50,000 matching donation. Every dollar donated for Benevolence will be matched by a dollar for Operations to ensure we can support individuals and families in crisis. Please consider supporting our Benevelence fund and making a difference in our community.
