Kerr Street Wear

Wear Your Voice!

Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:30 pm
February 13 – April 9, 2024 (8 weeks)
at Kerr Street Mission
Ages 13- 18
Program Cost: No cost with 8 week commitment

The Kerr Street Wear (KSW) Project was originally created to address the reality that youth today are exposed to more injustice, discrimination, inequality, and lack of resources than any previous generation. KSW helps Oakville youth be heard and learn how to positively use their voice.

With KSW, Oakville youth will use apparel and design strategies as a mechanism to address topics that matter to them and “wear their voice.” Part of this process involves having speakers share how they turned their passion into a brand and teaching the youth how they can do the same.

KSW aims to provide a space for Oakville youth to share personal experiences and encourage them to pursue their passions. The youth will develop confidence, self-esteem, and will feel a sense of pride having their finished product worn by their peers.
