Going Beyond Our Doors
Kerr Street Mission is not just a food bank. We provide care and community support for those who are in need, and sometimes that means we need to go beyond our doors to feed our neighbours. The COVID-19 pandemic has shed light on a vulnerable population within our community who have higher health risks. To protect individuals who are immunocompromised, have health complications, and/or are otherwise at-risk in the community, we provide a food delivery option to those who need it.
Each week we connect with these individuals remotely for a wellness check, as well as provide them with choices on what food they would like to receive. Our dedicated team of volunteers then work to pack, move, and distribute customized food parcels directly to the homes of our clients.
