Leaders In
Training

The KSM Leader In Training (LIT) program is designed to offer high school students with opportunities for leadership development through high quality training from professionals. Participants will also gain hands-on volunteering experience and earn hours in various roles at the Kerr Street Mission.

We are currently at capacity for Special Events volunteers. Please check back at a later time if you wish to volunteer at KSM. We thank you for your interest!

We run two sessions each year:

  • Semester 1: September to January
  • Semester 2: February to June

What can LITs expect?

  • Hands-on leadership experience in various areas of KSM including Kids’ Club and Food Services
  • Teaching in 3 different areas to help them succeed in leadership and in life:

    • Life Skills – Budgeting, time management, etc.
    • Mental Health – How to be at your best in leadership
  • Overnight trip to Muskoka Woods Leadership Studio for team building and more leadership development
